NATHAN EAST: FOR THE RECORD SCREENING AT PAN AFRICAN FILM FESTIVAL

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Feb 2, 2016 – Yamaha Entertainment Group of America is proud to announce that Nathan East: For The Record will be screened at the 24th Annual Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles (PAFF-LA).

Directed by Chris Gero, the film takes viewers behind-the-scenes as one of the most influential bass players in modern music, Nathan East, records his debut solo album on Yamaha Entertainment Group’s record label. His long awaited solo album (released in March 2014) spent four weeks at no. 1 on Billboard's Contemporary Jazz Album chart and 36 weeks in the top position on SmoothJazz.com.

For The Record also chronicles East’s three-decade plus career from when he hit the road age 16 with Barry White, his session and touring work across musical genres and membership in the legendary jazz quartet, Fourplay. The film features interviews with many of the musicians East has worked with, including Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, Lionel Richie, Quincy Jones, Vince Gill, Herbie Hancock, Don Was and more. Since its release on Hulu in December 2014, For the Record has received 15 awards to date.

Established in 1992, PAFF-LA showcases over 150 new films and 100 artists from around the world. For the Record will have two screenings: Monday, February 8 at 1:00 p.m., Screen 8 and Thursday, February 11 at 3:55 p.m., Screen 9. Learn more at http://www.paff.org/.
