Yamaha Artist Frederic Chiu to Perform at ArtsRock

NASHVILLE, Tenn. March 2, 2016 – Yamaha Entertainment Group of America is proud to announce that Frederic Chiu was added to the 2016 ArtsRock lineup.

Chiu is an internationally recognized classical pianist, having played in halls from Berlin to Tokyo to Lincoln Center.  He is a longtime Yamaha artist who performs a unique combination of iconic favorites and groundbreaking newer music on the piano.

Chiu explains Distant Voices, his classical album on Yamaha Entertainment Group, as showing how cultures influence each other across centuries and across continents. Debussy’s search for a uniquely French musical style started with his discovery of Asian music. And 100 years later, Gao Ping was inspired by Debussy’s French Impressionism in his piano works based on Szechuan folk music. With each iteration of inspiration, creators add complexity and depth, taking us further into the human psyche.

The Music at Union Arts Center event will be “Distant Voices” performed by Frederic Chiu, classical pianist.
